Since 2004, at CHIO Aachen (the world's largest annual equestrian event), the HAVENS Pferdefutter-Prize is being held on the wednesday.
Over the years, many famous dressage-rider have won this prestigeous Grand Prix. Most wins so far were for the famouos German rider Isabelle Wert; she won 4 times (in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2018)
This year's edition was won by Isabel Freese riding her Olympic horse Total Hope (with 74.261%).
Because of the high temperatures during the day (at midday is was 35° C) and a rainy and stormy evening (where it dropped to 19°C), the last rider only finished around midnight only. Therefor, the Prize-giving ceremony took place at only 00.30 hours and at only 19°C.
As all horses were already "to bed", for the first time since 2004, the pricegiving took place without horses. But the overjoyed Isabelle still made a nice honory round ... on foot! Bravo!
