My horse is too skinny, what can I feed to help?
05-05-2026This is a question we receive very frequently at the moment. Many horses have lost weight during the winter and the shedding season, and now need extra support to regain condition.
During winter and especially in spring, temperatures fluctuate significantly. As a result, horses use more energy, lose weight more quickly, and their immune system can come under pressure. In addition, the competition season is in full swing again, meaning many horses are being trained more intensively. In this period, additional support with concentrates that provide a balanced and rich supply of vitamins can be beneficial.
To support both weight gain and the immune system, we recommend supplementing with our Slobber-Mash or Senior Crumbs. Both products are mixed with water to create a tasty mash and are ideal as an additional meal alongside the regular ration.
Slobber-Mash
Our Slobber-Mash is a palatable, vitamin-rich and oat-free mix, enriched with extra linoleic acid, linseed oil and sunflower seeds. Its balanced composition supports a healthy body condition, a strong immune system, and optimal digestion.
Especially during the shedding season, Slobber-Mash can provide valuable additional support. It is easy to feed: either dry or soaked (mix 1 part mash with 1 part water and allow to soak for approx. 10–15 minutes).

Senior Crumbs
Our Senior Crumbs is a small pellet (crumb), free from whole grains and very rich in vitamins and minerals. Thanks to its specific formulation, it is also often fed to younger horses that need extra immune support or need to gain weight.
Senior Crumbs has a low starch and sugar content and contains high-quality proteins. Due to its formulation without whole grains, it also has a relatively low energy level, making it suitable as an additional portion for sport horses that naturally have sufficient energy and do not require extra high-energy feed. The Senior Crumbs needs to be soaked with water for 2 minutes.
