Do you also have a stress-sensitive horse in your stable?

Just a few more days and we are already entering the last month of the year. The days are getting shorter, wetter and colder and this often means that horses are out in the meadow less (long). Being stabled for long periods of time is against the horse's nature and this can cause the horse to experience more stress as a result. Not all horses show this equally as horses can be real introverts by nature and suppress stress signals.

Stress is one of the main causes of gastric ulcers. Ensuring an unlimited supply of roughage can reduce both stress and the risk of gastric ulcers. Unlimited roughage ensures that a horse always has access to fibre, whilst also combating boredom and encourages the production of saliva. Saliva acts as a natural buffer against stomach acid and, as a result, there is less chance of gastric ulcers developing.

Furthermore, HAVENS Gastro+ can work very positively for horses suffering from stress and/or becoming too hot during cold weather. Gastro+ is an oat-free, richly vitaminized concentrate. It was especially developed for (top) sport horses that are sensitive to stomach and/or other digestive problems.

Gastro+ contains a special cocktail of acid buffers, a probiotic and is very high in fibre. A 7mm pellet with a high proportion of long-term energy combined with a low proportion of explosive, quick energy. As a result, it does not make horses hotter but contributes to good condition so that horses can keep up with the physical exertion required.
When there is increased rest and relaxation in the digestive system, horses can also relax more and the risk of stress is reduced. Feeding a unique concentrate such as Gastro+ can make all the difference this winter period!
